Return of the Light

All the dark day

I sat by the fire

And hoped for the sun

To return to the sky

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

All the dark day

I huddled inside

Wrapped tight in a blanket

To keep chill at bay.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

All the dark day

I longed for some color

But outside my window

I saw only gray.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

All the dark night

I prayed for reunion

For darkness to fade

For return of the light.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

In the dark morning

I tiptoed through dewdrops

With faith-kindled fire

Bringing warmth to my heart

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

In all its magnificence

Out of the Eastern sky

Burst forth a symphony

Of color and light.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Of hope and renewal

Of wonder and magic

That makes my soul dance

To the song of my heart.
