For My Southern Family

Here’s an updated picture of Macungie’s snow. As of 2:30 PM, we measured 16.5 inches. By the time I came inside at 3:30, another inch had fallen. Say all you want about warm weather, and then admit that when an event like this takes place you might wish for just a minute that you could be snowbound, too — with a cup of hot chocolate!

WOW! Who got to shovel all of that?

It was a joint effort, although Mark and the snowblower did most of the work. Today we only have about 4 or 5 more inches to clear. Be sure to check out the video!

Pam, you are so right.
A cold wind blew through north Florida last night. We dripped the faucets and covered the plants. Chores that obviously do not compare to shoveling 16 inches of snow. But seeing these pictures and reading Terri’s blog kind of make me wish I had some rubber boots, warm pants, mittens, a knitted scarf and a hat with furry ear flaps so I could go out and play – or just experience – the beauty. I’ve been there before when it was all work and no fun, praying for a sunny beach to lie on. Today I think I’d trade the pina colada for a hot chocolate. I’m smiling at your the wonderland.

Gee, Mary,
I appreciate hearing that Florida was cold, too — keeps the fantasies at bay. My sisters both live in Clearwater, my parents in Palm Harbor, and my eldest son in Atlanta. They seem to enjoy hearing about my cold weather and taunting me about their warm days. So you are a friend of Terri’s…that makes me feel warm, even with all that snow on the ground! I’m thinking maybe Terri has one of those ear-flap hats to go with her big orange coat…
