I’ve always enjoyed and appreciated the words I read by Albert Schweitzer. This quote caught my attention recently, and I thought I’d share it with you:

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

It is true that we all have times when our light seems dim or even moments when it doesn’t burn at all. How wonderful that none of us is alone in the world! How amazing that we are able to regain perspective from another at times when we don’t see clearly. What a gift when we can be the one who bears the light for another person who needs that spark! There is comfort in knowing that we all are connected and there is wisdom in letting our gratitude flow as we realize that we are part of something so much bigger than ourselves. Here’s hoping that you will spend a few moments today thinking of the dear people who have brought their light and rekindled yours in your moments of greatest need. Let’s remember today, with gratitude, the people who have taught us by their example to be bearers of the light. Let your light shine!
