When you live in Pennsylvania, one of the first holidays you learn about is Groundhog Day.  Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow or not?  I can remember taking this very seriously when I was a child.  Some years, when we had a lot of snow, I would wish the sun away so that Spring could come sooner.  Other years, when I wanted one more chance to play in knee-deep snow, I would see shadows everywhere I looked.  When I walked outside this morning, the first thing I noticed about Groundhog Day 2010 was the potential that seemed to hang in the air.  There was something just a little bit lighter about the day than the monochromatic-gray days that have dominated the last two months.  There was a lovely pink sunrise highlighting a bright blue sky, and it spoke to me of promise.  Whether Spring comes tomorrow or six weeks from now, there is no doubt in my mind that it is already beginning.
